WELCOME TO BANJOSNAKE WORLD!

Hello, BanjoSnakers!

If you're reading this, you've probably noticed the wonderful new website that's now up and running and almost fully-functional! Kudos to my webmaster (and I do mean master... the guy's amazing!) John H. Farr. Check out his own website at www.zoopilot.com and give him the hosannas he's due!

If you scroll down to my previous postings, you'll notice that there's no longer an "upcoming gigs" entry, and that's 'cause there's a dedicated "Upcoming Gigs" page on the site which I'm managing to keep pretty carefully updated, so check that out if you're lookin' to hear some great live music. I think I've managed to edit out all the references to that posting, so hopefully nobody's gonna get too confused...

As usual, I'm draggin' my feet about how to most gracefully set up a CD ordering system that's both convenient for y'all and not too mind-bending for me and my bank, so be as patient as you can, and in the mean time, if you just can't live without a CD or two, email me and I'll get it in the post for ya while you send me a check... or something. I've also got some song-download options that John and I are investigating as well, so hang in there...

You might also notice that the "other stuff" page is a bit blank, but I'm working on it... there's plans afoot for t-shirts and the like, and maybe even some other stuff, too... furthermore, the "press kit" page is also a little thin, but as I plow on with the new CD I'm also having new publicity photos taken and so forth, so there'll be something up there pretty soon...

Well, for now I'll refrain from the urge to post a bunch of political rantings or whine about the multi-tasking turmoil that my life is at the moment, and just reiterate my delight that you're checking out my site, and once again:

Welcome!
Chipper

"CASA CHIPPER" IS FOR SALE!

Hey there, folk-n-rollers!

Well, here's some big ol' news for ya! Kim and I are making plans to buy some land and build a house up in the mountains above Taos, and therefore, unless I win the powerball lottery this weekend, I've decided to sell my beloved property here in Talpa, New Mexico.

This is one incredible place I've got here, and I hate to leave it on many levels, but maybe I can convince a friend or fan of mine to grab it while they can! Here's what it's like...

There's 1.8 acres here, with full water/irrigation rights and an apple/pear/plum/apricot orchard. The main house is a 250-year-old adobe Spanish hacienda that's just unspeakably great (I added a fully modern, fully functional utility room and boiler recently). Then there's an 1850's log cabin from Missiouri that serves as a guest house, and a huge, beautifully-designed artist's studio where my wife Lanford Monroe used to paint and where for the last seven years I've made lots of great music with my friends. Overhanging it all are some of the biggest, most beautiful old cottonwood trees in Taos County.

As you can probably tell, it's a spectacular property, right here in one of the most famous art colonies in the world, with access to fabulous skiing and a world heritage site (the remarkable Taos Pueblo).

I think you should buy it, so I can get on with the land purchase and new construction... come on, BanjoSnakers! If you think you might be seriously interested, don't leave a comment here at the blog... email me with the "contact" link and we'll talk about it. The walk-away, no-realtor-involved, cash-in-hand price is quite reasonable for what you're gonna get, and I'm ready to negotiate.

As spring fully blooms here in Taos, I'll take some nice pictures of the property, and post 'em on this blog entry, so you can actually see the glory of the place. Until then,

Adios, Chipper

HAPPY "EASTER MONDAY!"

Hey there, BanjoSnakers!

Happy Easter Monday, y'all! I've spent the last two gray, chilly days here in the New Mexico mountains thinking on spring and rebirth and all that, and listening to "Stairway To Heaven" ad nauseum until my family wants to kill me... but it's as close to a neo-pagan springtime hymn as we have, I reckon....

Anyway, welcome to my new website! I'm as happy as I've ever been with a website, and I'm proud of the job my friend John H. Farr did on it... we finally got a lot of the neat stuff up that I've always wanted, like a poster gallery and a photo gallery, for instance... lots of other cool things are on the way. As usual, I'm struggling with the mechanism to let you fine folks order CDs (and other stuff, coming soon...!) online with yer credit cards, but in the meantime, just be patient and if you have to have something NOW, email me with your wish list and we'll hack out the details between us.

I'm off for the humid east in the morning, on a little bouzouki tour with Roger Landes. The summer is filling up with shows, so surely you can make it to a few! Folk, rock, country-western, middle-eastern... we got it all for ya here at BanjoSnake! Just check the "Gigs" page here on the new website and make sure ya don't miss a thing! Take it easy, folks, and see ya soon....

Your humble servant,
Chipper
